A strong analytical capability led by the Group Data Analytics team within Digital Factory is a crucial element of the successful digital transformation.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Medior Data Scientist to join Digital Factory. The new team member will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing data strategies to meet the data science needs of various initiatives. These include projects within Consumer Services, in other businesses of MOL Group, and external partners and clients.
This role will support activities to implement robust, scalable and futureproof data analytics solutions in aligned with partner strategies. Drive the design, end-to-end implementation and lifecycle management of Machine Learning and Advanced Analytics solutions. Delivers business growth by influencing key business decisions and driving untapped sales growth and business optimization opportunities.
Main responsibilities
Lead identification of high-impact use cases for ML/AI/GenAI, prioritizing those that drive business performance, uncover optimization opportunities, and fuel revenue and margin growth.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze business requirements, translating them into high-impact analytical solutions.
Develop data science solutions with minimal supervision by preparing and implementing data science algorithms and solutions that meet business needs and requirements.
Oversee data transformation, feature selection, and data cleansing efforts to ensure datasets are ready for high-quality modeling.
Lead the selection of suitable modelling approaches and analytics techniques, training and testing of algorithms, and evaluating their performance to deliver robust and efficient solutions.
Translate complex business problems into scalable, efficient data-driven solutions aligned with organizational goals.
Ensure smooth integration of data science solutions by overseeing their handover to Data Engineers, Data Analysts, business stakeholders, and IT Operations teams.
Contribute to shaping the ML/AI strategy and roadmap, influencing the organization’s future data initiatives.
Mentor and guide junior colleagues while driving knowledge-sharing efforts within the data science team and broader analytics community.
Promote AI Literacy across the organization, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making.
Take ownership of quality assurance processes, ensure thorough and up-to-date documentation, prepare and execute change requests, and provide third-level support to ensure lifecycle management of data science solutions.
Support the Execution of MOL Group's business, functional, and data strategies within Consumer Services, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
About your experience and skills
Education
University or college degree, or equivalent work experience.
Experience
3-5 years of hands-on data science experience (depends on relevancy)
Familiarity with agile, Scrum, or other rapid application development methods.
Professional Competencies
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and analyze significant amounts of data with attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent quantitative, analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong business acumen.
Ability to communicate data insights effectively through data visualization techniques.
Capable of expressing technical and business concepts, ideas, and conclusions in both oral and written formats.
Willingness to explore data and systems that have not been analyzed before.
Familiarity with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence) and MS Office.
Technical Skills
Knowledge of predictive and prescriptive algorithms and their mathematical / statistical background
Experience in at least one of the followings:
Statistical programming languages: Python, Scala, R
Writing SQL and No SQL queries (PL SQL, T-SQL, Hive, Impala)
Business Intelligence platforms such as PowerBI, Qlikview or Tableau
Experience with Azure/Databricks is a plus

Main Recruitment Steps
Initial call: You will be contacted by MOL Recruitment via phone for a short chat.
Short test: You will receive a link to a short test to check your basic analytical skills and SQL knowledge.
Interview: You can expect two or a maximum of three interview rounds, where you can meet your direct manager, some experts from the team, ask your questions and present your skills and career path. We always make sure you receive timely feedback after each round.
Case study: You will either receive a take-home assignment after the first interview or be asked to solve a business problem on the spot at one of the interviews.
