Group Finance Controller for Eastern Europe
SynTech Research Group provides a wide range of R & D services to clients in agricultural businesses worldwide in over 60 countries. The broad scope of services includes all the key study types such as environmental fate and effect (GLP), bioefficacy (GEP), seeds/traits, as well as program planning, management and regulatory services. , Group Finance Controller Eastern EU is responsible for the legal entities and their finance operations and financial reporting. The Finance Controller prepares internal and financial reports, evaluates data, and trends and provides decision support analysis.
- Execute all relevant closing activities (monthly, quarterly, year-end);
- Prepares the yearly budget and monthly forecast for all entities in cooperation with Managing Director for Eastern EU;
- Perform internal control activities and ad hoc administrative tasks for the given deadlines;
- Collaborates closely with external accounting providers in given legal entities;
- Communicates with relevant contact persons at the sites regularly to complete the given financial tasks;
- Participate in external, internal financial and tax audits, ensuring fiscal compliance;
- Reports functionally to CFO in France and acts a strong Finance Business partner to Managing Director of Eastern Europe, to whom reports directly.
- Minimum 5+ years accounting and/or finance controlling experience;
- Fluency in English;
- Confident usage of ERP systems and MS office tools (regular Teams calls with colleagues);
- Advanced Excel skills and IT literacy;
- Outstanding attention to details;
- Strong analytical, interpersonal and problem solving skills;
- Strong communication skills;
- Ability to meet priorities and deadlines, and to work under time pressure;
- Independent decision making: ability to make decisions in own scope and level, ability to recognize when support is needed;
- GL Accounting experience is a ‘nice to have’;
- Understanding of US GAAP and SOX & Control environment is ‘nice to have’.
- Economics and/or Finance & Accounting BA/BSc degree
Travel and Training: Limited travel upon business request. Expected to visit all sites upon starting the job and for on-boarding training which will be planned for about 1 week in France. Then, expected 1-2 organized meetings abroad per year to attend. Further training and mentoring to settle in the job will be provided by a Senior Finance Controller from Brazil. It will be done via Teams calls.
- On-boarding to the job will take place in France with support from Finance team sitting there.
- Tools for work provided- laptop, mobile phone. Company car is not provided.
- Regular communication with the Finance team and Eastern EU entities will regularly take place via 365 Microsoft Teams.
- Development opportunities to learn and grow in the company such as to enlarge the job scope to other entities, for instance in Western EU.
