Head of Purchasing
Main tasks and responsibilities:
Responsible for the operation of KBU's Purchasing in accordance with applicable laws and internal regulations, both in the direct and indirect areas of material procurement, with particular attention to compliance policies.
Develops the local purchasing strategy in line with the central purchasing strategy - taking into account the company's Long Term Plan (LTP). Defines and implements actions in line with the strategy. Breaks down the strategy to sub-processes and sub-goals.
Delivers targets, continuosly monitors KPIs with special attention to MPI (Material Price Index) and Supplier Delivery Performance. Leads Purchasing in line with KBU and KB Group business objectives, considering the overall company objectives and aspects, in close cooperation with the partner organisations.
Provides the contractual frame for ensuring that the goods and services purchased meet quality, quantity, production and other requirements. Initiates actions in case of breach of contract. Organizes tenders on demand.
Creates Purchasing investment strategy and is responsible for the investment budget.
Monitors current and potential supplier market performance and opportunities, undertakes and/or initiates supplier development. Builds KBU's supplier relationships.
Monitors global market trends for different commodities, defines and implements actions in line with forecasts. Identifies critical materials driven by supply chain uncertainty.
Tracks operational activities: responsible for the continuous monitoring and updating of open purchase orders, as well as for the monitoring and maintenance of purchasing parameters.
Constantly monitors the purchasing organisation's costs, reduce costs, optimises spendings, improves efficiency.
Constantly improves purchasing processes. Documents processes, represents the Purchasing organization at the audit.
Constantly innovates and digitalizes processes and explores future potentials for digitalisation.
Integrates environmental aspects into purchasing processes, ensures compliance with related regulations in the area of Purchasing.
Develops The Purchasing organisation, creates succession plan and pipeline, trains team, builds team spirit. Encourages team to continuously collaborate with both global and local partner organisations.
Manage and facilitate change.
Qualifications, skills, competences needed to fill the position:
University or college degree in the area of Economics and/or Engineering
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP
7+ years professional experiences, from this minimum 3 years at the area of Purchasing
Minimum 3 years of leadership experiences
Strategic thinking, Excellent problem solving skills, Strong communication including conflict management skills, Presentation skills, Excellent analytical skills, Teamwork, Change management
Fluent English (German knowledge is an advantage)
"Following system's knowledge is considered as an advantage: Ariba, Celonis, Power BI;
Project management knowledge"
Willingness to travel (4-5 days per month)
Leading a set of five teamleaders incl. target setting, monitoring, supporting and coaching
