Intermediate Financial Analyst - Investment Reporting Aegon is a multinational financial services group with multiple locations across the globe, with core markets in the UK, and the US, growth markets in China, Brazil, and Iberia, and an Asset Management organization with locations in the UK, the US, the Netherlands, and Hungary. Aegon Global Business Solutions Center is supporting these businesses with IT, Finance, Risk, Model Validation, Actuarial, Audit, and Asset management services with a growing team of approx. 300 people, based in Budapest, Hungary. This position is within Investment Reporting and will be responsible for using accounting knowledge to monitor daily operational process exceptions for investment activity. The employee will be responsible for identifying and resolving data anomalies within the core investment accounting system (Clearwater Analytics) used for Management and Regulatory Reporting.   Responsibilities Responsible for monthly accounting processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records by preparing journal entries. Responsible for performing monthly reconciliations from source back to general ledger. Extract financial and attribute data from core accounting system to trouble-shoot and resolve cash payment discrepancies. Verify information compiled is accurate based upon accounting and investment knowledge. Responsible for core system integrity and data quality by accounting policy and processing procedures. Candidate will be responsible for daily review of activity processing results and be able to address questions regarding accounting results calculated by the system. Responsible for working directly with the vendor and stakeholder to resolve process exceptions. Respond to requests received from management and other departments. Understands the flow of information and uses that knowledge to troubleshoot problems. Accountable for maintaining a positive, proactive relationship with internal customers. Recommends changes to processes to improve and achieve greater efficiencies by documenting business requirements and participating in testing efforts. Responsible for adherence to the company's framework of internal controls. May assist with projects involving comparing data sets between production and test environment.   Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting. Finance degree is acceptable with accounting experience. Minimum of 3 or more years of experience in performing accounting and reconciliation functions. Proficiency using MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).   Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of accounting, for example preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, etc. Knowledge of investment vehicles for example, bonds, mortgage loans, derivatives, etc. Customer-oriented with demonstrated communication skills both orally and written. Experience with collaborative problem solving with others. Attention to detail and accuracy.
