About the Role
We are looking to hire an experienced and passionate Junior Mobile Android Software Engineer to join Digital Factory. The Junior Software Engineer - Mobile Android is part of our digital engineering team who is responsible for the advancement of digital businesses and their supporting technologies and contribution towards key business decisions on both a functional and technical level.
As a Junior Mobile Android Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing Android applications using Jetpack Compose. You will work closely with senior engineers to build and maintain modern, responsive Android apps, ensuring smooth user experiences and effective implementation of UI/UX designs. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for Android development, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.
Main Responsibilities
Develop Android applications using Jetpack Compose for UI development.
Implement modern, responsive UIs and collaborate with design teams to bring wireframes and prototypes to life.
Contribute to feature development, ensuring app performance, responsiveness, and a positive user experience.
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code using Kotlin and follow Android development best practices.
Participate in code reviews and collaborate with team members to improve code quality and application performance.
Ensure adherence to Android design guidelines and best practices for Jetpack Compose.
Debug and resolve issues related to UI/UX, functionality, and performance.
Identify and fix bugs and crashes in the application during development and testing.
Work closely with backend developers to integrate APIs and ensure seamless communication between the front-end and back-end systems.
Collaborate with UI/UX designers to ensure the best possible user experience.
Communicate project progress and challenges to senior developers and stakeholders.
Stay up-to-date with the latest Android development trends, especially around Jetpack Compose and Kotlin.
Continuously improve your Android development skills through mentorship, self-learning, and hands-on project experience.
About Your Experience and Skills
Education
University or college degree with specialization in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent.
Experience
0-2 years of experience in Android app development or relevant project experience during coursework or internships.
Experience with Git for version control and collaborative coding.
Professional and Technical Competencies
Experience or basic knowledge of Jetpack Compose for building Android UI components.
Proficiency in Kotlin for Android development.
Familiarity with Android SDK and Android Studio.
Understanding of RESTful APIs and experience with MVVM and dependency injection.
Professional usage of Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with Atlassian JIRA and Confluence.

Main Recruitment Steps
Initial call: You will be contacted by MOL Recruitment via phone for a short chat.
Interview: You can expect two or a maximum of three interview rounds, where you can meet your direct manager, some experts from the team, ask your questions and present your skills and career path. We always make sure you receive timely feedback after each round.
Technical Assessment: You will either receive a take-home assignment after the first interview or be asked to solve an exercise on the spot at one of the interviews.
