About the Role
We are looking to hire an experienced and passionate Senior iOS Android Software Engineer to join Digital Factory. The Senior Software Engineer - Mobile iOS is part of our digital engineering team who is responsible for the advancement of digital businesses and their supporting technologies and contribution towards key business decisions on both a functional and technical level. As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in iOS, you will lead the development of high-quality mobile applications for the iOS platform. You will be responsible for the entire software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and deployment. In this role, you will work closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to create innovative, user-friendly applications that enhance the mobile experience. Additionally, you will mentor junior developers and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
Main Responsibilities
iOS Application Development:
Lead the implementation of new features and enhancements for iOS applications.
Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using Swift and Swift UI.
Ensure the app’s performance, quality, and responsiveness meet high standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend engineers to define application requirements and functionality.
Participate in product feature discussions, providing technical insights and recommendations.
Collaborate with the QA team to ensure the delivery of bug-free releases.
Code Review & Mentoring:
Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality, performance, and security.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level iOS engineers.
Foster a collaborative team environment and support knowledge sharing among team members.
Mobile App Performance Optimization:
Monitor app performance using tools such as Xcode Instruments and resolve performance bottlenecks.
Identify areas for optimization, including memory usage, responsiveness, and battery consumption.
Continuous Improvement & Best Practices:
Stay up-to-date with the latest iOS development trends, SDKs, and frameworks.
Implement and advocate for mobile development best practices, including test-driven development (TDD), code refactoring, and continuous integration.
Drive the adoption of modern development tools and technologies within the team.
Testing & Debugging:
Write and maintain unit, integration, and UI tests to ensure the reliability and stability of the app.
Debug and resolve issues reported in production and development environments.
App Store Deployment & Management:
Manage the process of deploying apps to the App Store, including provisioning, certificates, and release notes.
Ensure apps are compliant with Apple’s guidelines and monitor App Store feedback and performance.
About Your Experience and Skills
Education
University or college degree with specialization in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent.
Experience
5+ years of experience in iOS development with a proven track record of shipping apps to the App Store.
Experience working on large-scale, complex iOS applications in an Agile environment.
Previous experience leading development projects and mentoring junior developers.
Professional and Technical Competencies
Strong proficiency in Swift (and Swift-UI) with hands-on experience in developing iOS applications.
Experience with RESTful APIs and integrating mobile applications with backend services.
Strong knowledge of Auto Layout and programmatic UI development.
Experience with Xcode, Instruments, and other iOS development tools.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines for iOS app development (e. g. , Jenkins, Fastlane, Azure Pipelines).
Experience with CocoaPods or Swift Package Manager for dependency management
Solid experience with iOS architecture patterns (e. g. , MVC, MVVM, VIPER)
Knowledge of mobile security best practices and experience with encryption, authentication (OAuth, JWT)
Basic knowledge of Combine and its application in building reactive iOS apps.
Understanding of code versioning tools such as Git, and experience managing branching strategies, pull requests, and merges
Professional usage of Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with Atlassian JIRA and Confluence.
