Sales Engineer - Chemical Additives

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Engineer to join our team in the chemical additives sector. The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving sales growth, developing new business opportunities, and maintaining strong relationships with existing customers. Building new business contacts are essential part of the position as well.
You will work closely with technical and commercial teams of suppliers to provide tailored solutions that meet manufacturers’ needs in industries such as plastics, automotive, coatings, pharma, household chemicals and others.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales and Business Development
- Identify, prospect, and generate new business opportunities within the specified market sectors in Hungary
- Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturing customers
- Present technical solutions to customers and provide expert advice on product selection and applications
- Understand customer needs, provide tailored product recommendations, and ensure the successful delivery of solutions.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to maximize revenue and profitability.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve both short-term and long-term growth objectives.
Technical Support and Product Expertise:
- Provide in-depth technical knowledge of chemical additives and their applications in various industries (training is naturally provided, but basic technical knowledge of specific industries are considered as a big plus)
- Offer product demonstrations, training sessions, and technical support to customers
- Collaborate with therepectful suppler’s R&D and product development teams to offer innovative solutions and feedback from customers.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to stay informed about industry developments
Sales Reporting and Forecasting:
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and opportunities
- Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance analysis for management.
- Track sales metrics and KPIs, adjusting strategies as necessary, to meet sales targets.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work closely with the internal team to ensure customer satisfaction and on-time product delivery.
- Participate in industry events, conferences, and trade shows to represent the company and expand the network.
- The position reports directly to the managing director
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Negotiation and persuasion skills to close deals effectively.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to assess customer needs and provide optimal solutions.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites and industry events, as required. (Europe)
- „B” type driving licence
- Advanced computer skills (Windows, Office)
