An American multinational chemical company is looking for a Senior Accountant colleague for their accounting team, who will supervise the RTR team functions executed in accordance with the Group Policies, local and US GAAP requirements, agreed service level agreements, and key performance indicators.

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, team lead experience, and fluent English knowledge.

Your tasks will be as a Senior Accountant:

Lead, manage, and motivate a team of high-performance accounting professionals

Full overview of the Month End Closing, review of reporting packages and ensure deadlines are met

Approval of SOX controls

Approval of balance sheet reconciliations in Blackline

Approval of monthly and quarterly variances interacting with different departments as needed (PTP, OTC, FP&A…)

Escalation and resolution of issues

Manage relationship with auditors (agreement on calendars, managing to get the engagement letters signed, point of escalation)

Ensure Financial statements are presented on time

Team management (holidays, performance reviews, backup organization, recurrent 1 to 1, interviews)

Design people development plans

Take ownership on special projects assigned on top of the daily activities

Responding to a significant number of ad hoc queries, and analysis as required, prioritizing work effectively to ensure that these queries are responded to on a timely basis

Role may require some travel at times and work on some weekends/public holidays during month/year-end periods

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance

Over 5+ years of Accounting/Finance experience required

Experience leading a team

Advanced Excel skills with experience in building and working with complex models and large data sets.

Experience with SAP (JDE and HFM is a plus).

Leading accounting role in FSS in a large, listed, multinational company is desirable

US GAAP and SOX experience
